Best FP I ever owned!
I love cooking however I despise the prep and cleaning work. I have now owned this food processor for about a month and I am very happy with my purchase.
For me, a food processor was this bulky thing that was useful for slicing onions thin and puree just about anything else. After a piece of the old bowl broke, I decided it was time to replace my FP. I researched the internet and found that for 2 people, 7 cups should be plenty and that the best FP out there in this size was the Cuisinart. After reading many reviews I finally ordered it.
I watched the DVD that came in the box, it was time well spent as I picked up a few good tips about the new machine. Since then I made the dough and filling for 2 apple pies, made bread dough, cookies, meatloaf, egg sandwiches, shredded veggies and cheese, sliced whole potatoes for homemade chips, fries and scalloped potatoes, made the easiest fresh garlic butter, a full pizza from scratch with fresh ingredients and so on. I am impressed how I actually manage to slice or chop whole tomatoes without having chunky puree. The wide and slim feeder tubes are a definite must have and are easy to handle; the flat cover is a nice bonus. The tiny drizzle hole works great for making mayo.
I use the FP a lot for our staple of minced garlic and onions, the parts are so easy to clean it makes it worth my time. I also love the fact that I can put everything in the dishwasher. Now the food processor is not waiting for the quarterly use, but proudly sits on the counter next to my Kitchenaid mixer where I can easily access it, several times a week. Just beware, the discs are not 100% stainless steel and might rust a little if they stay wet.
I ordered the 2mm and 6mm slicing blades along with "The Food Processor Bible" from Amazon, they proved to be great additions to my machine.
